The 7500rpm max spin speed is perfect for tougher grass and some weeds so will neaten up any area after the lawnmower has finished its job.

E-drive technology is a high torque gear system that can power through tough grass without clogging up. It also has a power selection so you can adjust it between eco mode for normal trimming to save battery life and turbo mode to cut thicker grass.

I went for it as a runner-up over the Black+Decker above because it struggles a little with tough weeds and can’t do edging as simply.

But the cutting head is made from sturdy plastic blades that will deliver a good cutting swathe with each use. The universal, 18V battery can be used in a number of different power tools like the Einhell hedge trimmer and power drill so is a great option if you have any of these already.

This is a good garden strimmer with plenty of power to get through thick, long grass but isn’t so well designed for edging. It’s perfect for tidying up the lawn or for use in small gardens with thick grass as a mini-mower.

3. Most Powerful – Hyundai 40v Battery, Cordless Grass Trimmer

I’ve used strimmers where when the line runs down you have to take the spool out and manually pull out more wire. A pain in the bottom to put it politely.

The 40v and 2.5 Ah lithium-ion battery is one of the most powerful cordless grass strimmer options out there. And 80 minutes is the time to fully charge so you can charge for 30 minutes if it’s dead and make it around a small garden easily.

It was very cheap and it comes with the battery and charger included in the price!

It’s not the most powerful model and you won’t have much luck using it as a brush cutter to tackle brambles. It is a lightweight, ergonomic design that’s pleasant to use and will give your lawn beautiful neat edges after you mow.

I prefer the Black+Decker as it’s more versatile but the guard on this does make it a supremely good choice for edging.
