Change Time on Smeg Oven? An Easy Expert’s Guide

May 26, 2023 by Tony

Smeg Oven in display

There is a wide range of different Smeg oven models, some of which enable you to adjust the time.

Depending on the model you own, you might be able to change the clock on your cooker using buttons, sensors, or a dial that you turn to select the right time.

With Buttons

If your oven has buttons, there should be one that has a clock symbol where you can set the time on the display screen.

With Clock Symbol

First, hold the clock symbol, then can press the + and – buttons to set the time.

Without Clock Symbol

If you don’t see any clock symbols, check the right page on your user manual to identify which buttons correspond to the time display on your cooker.

Without Buttons

If your cooker has no buttons, the time will flash as 00:00 if there has been a power failure or if you have manually reset your appliance.

You will need to set the time before you can cook anything.

Using the Temperature Dial

You can adjust the clock on the display by using the temperature dial on your oven.

Turn it to choose the hours, then press the knob. Repeat to set the minutes.

Note that you can’t adjust the clock on your appliance if it is turned on.

Your oven needs to be plugged into a power supply but switched off at the power button.

About Tony

I’m Tony MacFarlane (the appliance hunter) and I seem to spend all my time searching out and reviewing all the best gear you could need for your house. I launched this site at the end of 2017 after being frustrated at how unclear even vacuum cleaner salespeople were.

There was so much jargon and no one seemed to be able to tell me the actual useful information. So I started this website to save you time, money, and hassle by providing easy-to-read reviews.

Since then I’ve helped more than 1 million people find the best appliances. Read more about me and this site on the about page. Or if you'd like to get in touch head over to the Contact page. I'm also on LinkedIn if you'd like to connect professionally.
